Summer is the season when most of us are more active. We spend more of our spear time outdoors, we meet with our friends more often, and we enjoy activities we’d probably prefer to avoid during winter. For example, during summers most of us will go to the beach and enjoy the warm sun and the bit chilly waters of the sea. And as our daily routine changes during summer, so must change our skin care, including its protection. Here’s how to do so.
Watch for Dehydration
Due to the heat of summer’s days, it is easy to get dehydrated. The heat causes our body to cool itself by sweat. Meaning we lose liquids that our body needs in order to operate properly and additionally, that our skin uses in order to remain healthy and beautiful. As mentioned, we also expend our physical activities during summer, which increase our sweat and rushes the loss of liquids as well. Therefore, what you want to do in order to prevent both your body and skin’s dehydration, is to drink a lot of water throughout the whole day, and especially when staying outdoors.
Over Tanning and Sunburns
When exposed to the sun, our skin gets tanned. This is actually a self-protection mechanism of our body. The brighter the skin is, the more it absorbs sun’s radiation. Therefore, our body turns our skin to be darker, so the next time will be exposed to the sun’s UV light, it will absorb less radiation and so our skin will be less harmed by the sun. But, when we over tan, it is extremely unhealthy for our skin. Unprotected exposure to the sun will cause our skin sunburns and even lead to skin diseases. Therefore, when spending the day out, we must use sunscreen and protect our skin as much as we can. For example, if you spend the day out at the beach, and you go into the water to take a swim, afterwards try to stay in a shaded spot on the shore, allowing your skin to cool down and postpone its tanning.
Skin Care and Heath
Another aspect of protecting our skin during summer is with the skin care we use. Using moisturizers, lotions and masks, will treat our skin and allow it to rejuvenate prior and after a long day outdoors under the flaming sun. The skin care will allow your skin to restore moist levels and so to be healthy and beautiful. So, make sure you use your skin care products on mornings and evenings and during the day, when needed. Protect your skin, and it will remain healthier and prettier.
